In the summer of 2007, The White Stripes embarked on a cross-country Canadian tour to accomplish their goal of performing in every province and territory across the expansive northern nation. This deluxe boxset comprises the ‘Under Great White Northern Lights’ DVD which documents the band playing to crowds in towns of all sizes across the Great White North – from traditional venues to matinee gigs at unusual locations such as a bowling alley, a boat and even on a city bus – culminating in a momentous 10th Anniversary show at the historic Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia; a live CD album featuring 16 songs recorded at various shows throughout the Canadian tour; the 2-LP Heavyweight Vinyl set; the exclusive ‘Under Nova Scotian Lights’ DVD [directed by Emmett Malloy]; a Bonus 2-track White Vinyl 7″ single containing live versions of ‘Icky Thump’ & ‘Wheels On The Bus’ [as performed on the City bus]. All housed together in a stunning embossed box [with removable lid] complete with a 208-page hardcover book containing photography shot by Autumn de Wilde of the Canadian tour, and a Silkscreen Print [1 of 6 possible designs] by artist Rob Jones based on photographs by Autumn de Wilde! CD/DVD SLIPCASE, FOLDER & BOOKLET: 3 panel custom-built 7 inch square disc folder and 24-page bound booklet housed in sturdy black slipcase. All intems featuring artwork unique to the box set.
UNDER GREAT WHITE NORTHERN LIGHTS DVD & CD, UNDER NOVA SCOTIAN LIGHTS DVD: DVD of the documentary film ‘The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights’, directed by Emmett Malloy (92mins). CD copy of The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights soundtrack featured on the double LP. Finally, exclusive to the box set, a DVD of the film ‘The White Stripes Under Nova Scotian Lights’, directed by Emmett Malloy (135mins). This performance film captures the band’s 10th Anniversary show in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia.
DOUBLE LP: Pressed on 180 gram black vinyl, the gatefold jacket for ‘The White Stripes Under Great White Northern Lights’ soundtracks features artwork unique to the box aswell as an exclusive 6-panel insert.
7″ SINGLE ON COLOURED VINYL: 7″ single exclusive to this boxset featuring ‘Icky Thump’ (live) backed with ‘Wheels On The Bus’ (live). Pressed on red coloured vinyl for the TMR/WBR edition and white coloured vinyl for the TMR/XL edition, each version has unique jacket art.
